Tukas EV UAB is a team of enthusiasts working on renewable energy devices since 2010. Their first project was the Lithuanian version of the Jonelis electric car. Their new project, HR Bank, was designed to meet personal needs for energy independence. HR Bank is a mobile energy storage device that combines physical exercise on a stationary bike with energy production and storage, offering functionalities for work, entertainment, and green energy generation.
To streamline the sales process for this customizable product, an interactive online tool was needed. The AR-range team was tasked with creating a 3D configurator enabling users to make a purchase after experimenting with various product variants while dynamically visualizing in 3D and downloading prices from the online store.
The configurator was designed to facilitate easy addition and removal of materials and colors, depending on availability and popularity. It integrates with a PrestaShop-based store to reflect product variants. The solution involved creating categories in PrestaShop (e.g., frame) with subcategories (e.g., wood, leather, paint) and individual textures. Colors are added using HEX codes.
Sketchfab API was used for smooth and high-quality 3D visualization of the product, allowing users to interactively customize textures, colors, and components. The AR-range team implemented UI coding, logic, and integration with PrestaShop for loading materials, products, prices, and cart functionality.
A standout feature is the Augmented Reality (web-AR) functionality, which lets users view the configured 3D product in their own space. This feature enhances customer confidence and reduces returns. The AR-range Augmented Reality script generates GLB or USDZ files based on user configuration in Sketchfab. Users on mobile devices can view the model in their space, while desktop users receive a QR code to scan with their smartphone.
The 3D configurator ensures detailed visualization and a unique personalization process, allowing users to build and purchase a product tailored to their needs. It automates the sales process, making it convenient and easy to manage available materials. The intuitive purchasing process shows all product variants and possibilities, guaranteeing customer satisfaction with a seamless buying experience.
