Catalogue

Add your first item

Create an item in a group, fill in its fields, and see it in the catalogue.

Updated 27 August 2026

An item is one thing in your catalogue: a sofa, a fabric, a leg. Items live in item groups, and the group decides which fields the item has.

Add the item

  1. Open your project and pick the item group the item belongs to.
  2. Click New item.
  3. Fill in the fields and click Save.

The form you see is the group’s own schema. If a field you expected is missing, it has not been added to the group: see Create an item group.

A new item form: the built-in fields first, then a card for each section of fields this group defines.

Fill in what you have

You do not need everything at once. Save an item with a name and come back for the rest , nothing is published to a shop until you say so.

Two fields behave differently from the rest:

  • Image opens the project’s media library instead of uploading a file onto the item.
  • Item fields point at something in another group, so the picker only offers items from the group this field is tied to.

What to reuse

Troubleshooting

The field I need is not on the form

Fields come from the item group, not the item. Ask whoever set up the group to add it, or add it yourself in the group’s settings: every existing item in that group gets the new field, empty.

My item does not show up in the shop

Saving an item stores it in Content Hub. Appearing in a shop is a separate step that depends on the integration and its sync: check the item is linked to a product first.
