CEO and co-founder of Ar-range, where he builds the rendering and configurator pipeline that turns one 3D model into every variant a furniture catalogue needs: 2.2 million bed visuals for MyBed.pl came out of it. Outside the studio he documents flooded mines, caves and wrecks as 3D models through the Submerged Foundation.

What he does at Ar-range

Marcin co-founded Ar-range to solve a problem furniture brands keep paying for: a catalogue with thousands of fabric and finish combinations, and no way to show all of them. He designs the pipeline that scans a physical swatch, rebuilds it as a physically accurate material, renders every variant from a single 3D model, and feeds the results into configurators, Content Hub and AI search. For MyBed.pl that meant 2.2 million bed visuals and 120 configurators, one per bed model, and a search that finds one of 542 fabrics from a plain sentence.

He is also the person a prospect talks to first. Before a project starts he looks at how the brand sells today, in the showroom and online, and says what is worth fixing. In February 2025 he gave the "New technologies in the furniture industry" lecture at Meble Polska in Poznań, on which of 3D configurators, AR and AI move sales and which only deepen existing problems.

A configurator is worth as much as your understanding of what the buyer expects from it. Never more.

The same craft, underwater

The scan-to-model discipline came from somewhere else. Marcin is a TDI Full Cave and technical wreck diver, and the founder of the Submerged Foundation, which documents flooded mines, caves and wrecks as explorable 3D models. Its flagship project, the Maria Concordia magnesite mine, is a four-level labyrinth with a 40-metre shaft, reconstructed from hundreds of thousands of photographs over hundreds of underwater hours, with support from the XDEEP Exploration Support Program.

He founded the Underwater 3D Academy to teach divers and marine archaeologists how to turn a scan into a model people can read, and has presented that work at Hidden Earth in the UK, the NSS Convention in the United States, Baltictech and Dive Expo Belgium. He lives in Poznań, Poland.

Can customers find a fabric by describing it? What it takes to answer yes.

A showroom salesperson turns 'soft, autumn colours, survives two cats' into three fabrics. Your website turns it into a filter. What it takes to put that conversation online: structured fabric data, the looks-like and feels-like knowledge, and the words your buyers actually use.

One 3D model on the left, the variants rendered from it on the right

3D configurator or variant visuals: which one does your catalogue need?

A 3D configurator and prerendered variant visuals answer different questions. The configurator is for products whose shape changes with the buyer's choices: modular sofas, wardrobes, outdoor kitchens. Variant visuals are for products whose shape is settled and whose finish is the choice: a bed in 542 fabrics. This piece sets out which one belongs where, what each costs you in performance and production, and how the two work together on one catalogue.
